This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use ScaleForge AI (the “Service”), available at scaleforgeai.pages.dev. ScaleForge AI is built so that your chat history stays on your own device — but to actually generate replies, your messages are sent to third-party AI providers. This document explains exactly what we do, what we don’t, and what those providers do.
The short version
No account. No chat database. We don’t sell your data or use your conversations to train models. Your chat history lives only in your browser. To produce replies, individual messages are sent in real time to third-party AI providers, who process them under their own policies. We keep no copy afterward. We process your IP address only briefly to prevent abuse.
1.Who we are
ScaleForge AI is a private AI chat interface designed and operated by Prabesh Khati Chhetri, an individual software developer based in Nepal (“ScaleForge AI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). It is an independent personal project, not a company, and is currently offered free of charge.
2.Information we do not collect
Unlike most AI chat platforms, ScaleForge AI is built to minimise data. We do not:
- Require an account, sign-up, email, name, or any profile.
- Keep a server-side database of your conversations or chat history.
- Sell, rent, or share your conversations with advertisers or data brokers.
- Use your conversations to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model.
- Run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking analytics on your chats.
3.Information processed when you use ScaleForge AI
a. Your conversations & local history
Your messages and the AI’s replies are stored only in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. We do not receive or retain a copy. If you clear your browser data, your history is permanently gone — there is no server-side backup, by design.
b. Messages sent to AI providers (third parties)
To generate a reply, the specific message(s) in your current conversation are sent, in real time, through our secure backend to a third-party AI provider (for example, the providers behind our Fast, Pro, and Max models). This is necessary for the Service to function. We do not store these messages after the reply is returned, but the AI providers receive your message content and process it under their own privacy policies and data-retention practices, which may include temporary logging for safety, security, or abuse-prevention purposes. We encourage you not to enter sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information into any AI chat service, including this one.
c. Technical data for security & abuse prevention
To keep the Service available and stop automated abuse, our backend briefly processes limited technical information:
- IP address — used transiently to enforce rate limits (so one source can’t flood the Service). It is held in a short-lived counter and is not linked to your conversations or to any identity.
- Bot-protection signals — Cloudflare Turnstile performs an invisible check to confirm you’re a human. This may involve standard browser/network signals and a token.
- Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may keep routine access logs (such as IP, timestamp, and request path) for operational and security purposes, as is normal for any website.
This technical data is not used to profile you or tied to your chats.
d. Voice mode (microphone)
If you use voice mode, your browser’s built-in Speech Recognition and Speech Synthesis features access your microphone only while voice mode is active. Depending on your browser and device, speech recognition may be processed by your operating system or browser vendor (for example, Apple or Google) under their policies. We do not record, transmit, or store your audio — we only receive the transcribed text, which is then treated like any other message (see 3b above).
4.How we use information
The limited information described above is used solely to:
- Operate the Service and deliver AI replies to you.
- Protect the Service against abuse, spam, fraud, and security threats.
- Maintain availability and diagnose technical problems.
- Comply with applicable law.
5.Third-party services we rely on
ScaleForge AI depends on a small number of third-party services (“sub-processors”). Each has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data it receives:
| Service | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| AI model providers | Generate replies to your messages | The message content in your current conversation |
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) | Invisible bot / abuse protection | Browser & network signals, verification token |
| Cloudflare Pages | Website & backend hosting | Standard request logs (IP, timestamp, path) |
| Upstash (Redis) | Rate-limit counter | A short-lived, IP-based request count |
We are not responsible for the independent practices of these providers. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
6.Cookies & local storage
ScaleForge AI does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser’s local storage to save your chat history and model preference on your device. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a strictly-necessary cookie or token for its security function. You can clear local storage at any time from your browser settings, or by using the “Clear conversation” control in the app.
7.Data retention
Because your conversations are stored locally, you control retention — they remain until you delete them or clear your browser. We do not retain message content on our side after a reply is generated. Transient security data (such as rate-limit counters) expires automatically within minutes; standard hosting logs are retained by our provider for a limited period per their policies.
8.Data security
All traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS and hardened with a strict Content-Security Policy and modern security headers. API keys are stored server-side only and never reach your browser. However, no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9.Children
ScaleForge AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 18, please use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
10.International users
ScaleForge AI is operated from Nepal, and the third-party services it relies on may process data in other countries (including the United States and the EU). By using the Service, you understand that your messages may be processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws than your own.
11.Your choices & rights
You remain in control:
- Delete your history at any time via “Clear conversation” or by clearing your browser data.
- Use the Service without voice mode if you prefer not to grant microphone access.
- Stop using the Service at any time — there is no account to close.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (such as access, correction, or deletion). Since we hold almost no personal data about you, most requests can be satisfied by you clearing your local data; for anything else, contact us below.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here; your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
